4 THINGS EVERY INDIAN BRIDE CAN LEARN FROM SONAM KAPOOR’S WEDDING

Sonam Kapoor's wedding was one of the most anticipated bollywood weddings. Not just because of the family but she comes from, but also for how everyone's eyes were glued to the fashionista girl for how she's going to be styled during her wedding functions.

Below are the top 4 things that every Bride-To-Be can learn from Sonam's wedding.

1. Mehandi Is NOT about the bright shades always.

It is believed that on Mehandi, a bride must carry bright colour shades only like Emerald, Yellow or Turquoise. But here is Sonam doing what she always does. Creating a new trend.

Breaking the Myth and wearing an ivory and gold lehenga by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.
The Major aesthetic required for a bride during a Mehandi function is ‘Traditional.’
This is where we appreciate Sonam for her amazing styling sense. She keeps the traditional factor alive with her jewellery. She wore her mother’s choker necklace at her Mehandi Function.
Instead of going LOUD with the traditional factor in both her dress and jewellery. She chose the jewellery to be traditionally authentic with those Kundans and let the Traditional aesthetic highlight more than merge with her dress.
Also, does this necklace look familiar?
Sonam also wore this at Cannes with a stylish Anamika Khanna net saree-dress in pale pink that had intricate sequin embroidery detail.

2. Don’t try to do everything at once.

On her Mehandi where Sonam went the other way round with her styling than the usual, keeping it all minimalistic, on the wedding day, the Bollywood actress kept the Dulhan Vibes all loud and clear.

For her big day, the bride chose a gorgeous red lehnga by Anuradha Vakil. The breathtaking bridal outfit was covered with intricate gold embroidery. She finished off her look with a pearl headpiece, a vintage choker, and tons of bangles.

If you are going to be a Bride soon, remember not to be Half Pregnant with your styling which means, if you are going minimalistic, Be just Minimalistic. Don’t try to balance an ivory lehnga with long triple layers jewellery thinking that it will balance a light lehnga. If you are going super hard on traditional & heavy factor. Let everything be synced to that.

Let everything be strictly one themed. Your jewellery, apparel & Footwear should be telling one story, not different ones.

3. When you are a bride, Use the power of Diversity.

While getting her bridal henna done, Sonam wore a stunning pink and gold Anuradha Vakil outfit styled with a pair of statement earrings, Ivory lehnga on Mehandi, all things traditional on wedding and the bold statement of a new bride on the reception.

On her wedding day only, Sonam changed 4 outfits & jewellery within 12 hours. Not everyone is that bold and crazy with fashion as Sonam, we agree. But wedding days of ones own wedding are the days that a girl remembers for rest of her life and Sonam portrayed it very well so South Asian Girls how to live it to the maximum.

4. Take your Chura & Kaliras Serious.

It was a punjabi wedding and the best way to judge the traditional authenticity of the wedding is by the Chura that the bride wore. Chura and Kalira are one of the most essential and ancient times ornament that brides within South Asia, specifically India, have been following religiously.

If like sonam, you are also going to be all traditional bride on your wedding, make sure not to wear a chura that has american diamonds or any western kara added to it spoiling the traditional feel.

A chura with traditional bangles or Jodha Karras added to it are your thing.

We have added some of the Traditional Churas below which are available at our collection too and do complete justice to the traditional factor of a bride.
